DIGITAL LITERACY INTERVENTIONS

As the instructor of record for a technology integration course for preservice teachers, I designed a digital literacy intervention and investigated its impacts on my students' abilities, strategies, and perceptions regarding how they evaluate online information.

CONCEPTUAL MODEL FOR MEDIA LITERACY

I developed a comprehensive model for Critical Online Information Evaluation (COIE), an interdisciplinary construct of information literacy. The model is grounded in a synthesis of the literature across disciplines, and provides useful guidance for curriculum development and assessment efforts in grades 6-16.

MACHINE LEARNING

I've studied how machine learning techniques such as topic modeling, sentiment analysis, and social network analysis can provide insight into learner engagement with, and reaction to, media literacy instruction on TikTok.
