MY RESEARCH ON TEACHER PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
TIME4CS FOR ALL
“Time4CSForAll" is an NSF-funded research practice partnership focused on increasing participation and access to computer science (CS) education for historically marginalized students. As a member of the curriculum design team, I have developed a crosswalk and teacher PD materials that fuse culturally responsive pedagogy and Universal Design for Learning with project-based learning to guide the inclusive design, development, and application of an integrated elementary CS/science unit.
PRIME ONLINE PD
“Efficacy of Prime Online” is an IES-funded online professional development experience designed to improve elementary teachers’ mathematics knowledge and pedagogy to support the specific learning needs of neurodiverse students. I have assisted with course management, data collection, and dissemination of outcomes related to how practitioner inquiry is scaffolded to support teachers' success.
CS ED MENTORING
UF's CTRL lab has developed and launched a K-12 CS Educator Certification Program to support Black, Latina, and Native American women in-service teachers with a community of practice model that includes a mentoring from experienced CS educators and flexible tutoring from CS content experts. We are currently studying the impacts of this program on participating mentors and mentees.
